Morocco and Nigeria Strengthen Judicial Cooperation in Combating Organized Crime
On Monday evening, September 22, 2025, the Attorney General of the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecution, Hicham Beljawi, held discussions with a delegation from Nigeria led by Muhammad Babadoko Abubakar, Director of Public Prosecutions, at the headquarters of the Public Prosecution in Rabat. This official visit aims to develop partnerships and coordinate efforts between the two countries on issues of mutual interest.
The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between the public prosecutors’ offices of Morocco and Nigeria, both judicially and technically, particularly in combating organized and transnational crime in all its forms. The parties also explored ways to exchange experiences and expertise in areas related to the work of public prosecution, contributing to improving judicial performance and strengthening legal confrontation mechanisms.
The meeting highlighted recent developments in Morocco’s justice system and showcased the Moroccan experience in the independence of the judiciary and public prosecution. It also provided insights into various initiatives and projects that the Public Prosecution is working on to enhance judicial efficiency and institutional performance.
