Moroccan talents shine abroad… Ahizoune, when will we wake up?

Every time we see athletes of Moroccan origin winning gold representing other countries, we are reminded that the issue lies not with the athletes, but with our national system. Recent examples include Al-Aouni in Italy, Nader in Portugal, and Wahdadi in Spain, who have achieved global milestones despite their Moroccan roots.

However, we find that the President of the Moroccan Royal Athletics Federation, Ahizoune, has not taken any action and has shown no clear strategy to protect or empower these talents within Morocco. The question here is: when will the federation take concrete steps to provide the support and infrastructure necessary to prevent the loss of our talents to other nations?

Moroccan talents exist, but the lack of financial and moral support, weak sports schools, and insufficient training programs lead athletes to seek opportunities abroad, where they are appreciated and enabled to excel.

If things continue this way, history will keep recording achievements under other countries’ names, while our system remains unable to reap the rewards. Ahizoune, the reproach here is on behalf of every lost talent, and now is the time to act before it’s too late.
