The European Football Association announced today, Thursday, that the 2027 UEFA Champions League final will take place at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid.
This will be the second time that the home of Atlético Madrid hosts the prestigious continental competition’s final, having previously welcomed the event in 2019 when Liverpool defeated fellow English side Tottenham Hotspur.
Both the Spanish capital and Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, competed to host the final. However, the European governing body selected Madrid following a meeting of its executive committee held in Tirana.
In a separate announcement, UEFA confirmed that the 2027 Women’s Champions League final will be held in Warsaw, while Salzburg, Austria, will host the European Super Cup final next year.
