Today, in the city of Taza, the new railway station commenced operations in a ceremony presided over by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdel Samad Kyoh, and the Director General of the National Railway Office, Mohamed Rabii El Khalie, in the presence of the provincial governor. The project cost 50 million dirhams and is part of a strategy to modernize and upgrade train stations across Morocco.
The station, which covers an area of 1,700 square meters and includes a spacious reception area, commercial shops, and a parking lot, represents modern infrastructure that aligns with the urban fabric of the city, providing a comfortable space for travelers. It is also expected to boost economic activity and enhance Taza’s role as a pivotal hub within the region.
Starting from September 15, the railway services will be boosted with two additional trips between Taza and Fez in the morning and evening, along with a direct connection to Al Hoceima via “Superatour” buses with two daily trips.
In media statements, the minister emphasized that the inauguration of this station falls within the royal policy aimed at bringing railway services closer to citizens, announcing a study in progress for an electric train project linking Oujda and Rabat by 2029. For his part, El Khalie stressed that the new station is part of a national program for the development of railway infrastructures, pointing to plans for enhancing its surroundings with future tourist and commercial services.
