Essam El-Hadary, the former Egyptian international goalkeeper, has predicted an exciting African Cup of Nations final between Egypt and Morocco.
In statements to Koora Plus, made during the continental cup tour in Egypt, El-Hadary said: “The African Cup of Nations remains the most prestigious on the continent, and its true value is only understood by those who have experienced its atmosphere and succeeded in lifting the trophy. We are fortunate to host it every two years, giving generations a renewed chance to shine.”
He added, “I hope the Egyptian national team succeeds in clinching the title this year in Morocco. The Pharaohs have been without the trophy for years, but all conditions are now set for the team to return to the winners’ podium.”
The goalkeeping legend emphasized that the Egyptian team remains a formidable force on the continent: “I wore the national team jersey for many years, and I know very well that all African teams consider Egypt a serious contender. While some titles have come through tough battles, the secret of the Pharaohs’ strength lies in their collective spirit.”
El-Hadary concluded by saying, “I predict Egypt and Morocco will play in the final, with all due respect to the other teams. The match will be very challenging, but I have great confidence that the players will realize the importance of the tournament and the responsibility on their shoulders.”
