The National Council of the Order of Chartered Accountants in Morocco, along with the training institute affiliated with the council and the Casablanca Stock Exchange, celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of certified accounting experts in financing strategies for capital markets on September 25 at the stock exchange headquarters.

Twenty accountants from various regions of Morocco successfully presented their graduation projects before a judging panel that included representatives from the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the Moroccan Capital Market Authority, accounting firms, and other market professionals.

This program, launched in 2024 as part of a partnership between the Order of Chartered Accountants and its training institute and the Casablanca Stock Exchange, aims to enhance the competencies of professionals in accounting to enable Moroccan companies to access the capital markets, which is considered a key driver of financing and competitiveness.

The high-level training pathway provides participants with an extensive understanding of the technical, financial, legal, and communication aspects related to financing operations, with a particular focus on mechanisms for capital opening and best practices in financial governance. The sessions were facilitated by experts from the Moroccan Capital Market Authority and the Casablanca Stock Exchange, along with several market players.

During the graduation ceremony, partners commended the importance of the initiative and emphasized the strategic role of the accountant in preparing and supporting companies during financing operations. The program reflects the shared commitment of the Order and the Casablanca Stock Exchange to establish the accounting profession as a cornerstone in the development of the Moroccan financial market, guided by a roadmap based on four main objectives: enhancing the role of the accountant within the financial system, improving corporate transparency and governance, developing expertise that meets stock market financing requirements, and contributing to the modernization of capital markets.

The certificates were presented to the graduates by Mr. Tarek Snahji, General Director of the Casablanca Stock Exchange; Mr. Nasser Saddiqi, Director of the Professional Area at the Moroccan Capital Market Authority; Mr. Faisal Makouar, President of the National Council of the Order of Chartered Accountants; and Mr. Youssef El Ouadi, Secretary General of the training institute.
