Multiple explosions erupted today, Tuesday, in the Qatari capital, Doha, according to Reuters and eyewitnesses, with smoke rising above the Katara district.

Israeli and Western sources indicated that the explosions were an attempt to assassinate Hamas leaders. Channel 12 in Israel reported that the operation targeted the Hamas negotiating delegation in Doha.

The American website Axios noted that the Israeli operation aimed at Hamas leaders during a meeting to discuss the U.S. proposal for a ceasefire.

So far, Qatari authorities have not issued any official statement regarding the explosions, amid a state of anticipation in the capital.

This event occurs at a sensitive time in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, raising concerns about escalating tensions in the region.
