Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab Leads Individual Consumption Expenditure with 32,700 Dirhams in 2023
Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab once again tops individual consumption expenditure indicators in Morocco, according to the latest regional account data released by the High Commission for Planning for the year 2023.
The report published today, Tuesday, indicates that the per capita final consumption expenditure in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab reached 32,700 dirhams, significantly surpassing the national average of 24,092 dirhams.
Following Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab, the Casablanca-Settat region recorded an expenditure of 29,325 dirhams, followed by the Eastern region with 26,689 dirhams, then Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima with 26,245 dirhams, and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 25,743 dirhams. Meanwhile, individual expenditures in the Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra region reached approximately 24,493 dirhams.
The figures also revealed that five major regions accounted for about 74 percent of total household final consumption expenditure, with Casablanca-Settat leading at 25 percent, followed by Rabat-Salé-Kénitra at 14.6 percent, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima at 11.7 percent, Fez-Meknes at 11.5 percent, and Marrakech-Safi at 11.3 percent.
The total final consumption expenditure of households at the national level during 2023 amounted to approximately 891.9 billion dirhams, while the remaining regions together contributed 26 percent, ranging from 0.8 percent in Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab to 7.2 percent in Souss-Massa.
