China praises Morocco’s initiatives to enhance African development and supports its accession to the International Mediation Organization

In the context of strengthening cooperation between Morocco and China, Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita held official talks today, Friday, with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing. The discussions focused on the two countries’ efforts to support development and stability in Africa and to enhance joint global initiatives.

During the meeting, China praised the initiatives launched by the Kingdom of Morocco to promote development and prosperity on the African continent, reaffirming Rabat’s commitment to a policy that aligns with Africa’s aspirations in various developmental fields.

Bourita reiterated Morocco’s support for the initiatives launched by Chinese President Xi Jinping, including the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, the Global Civilization Initiative, and the recently announced Global Governance Initiative during the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin.

The Moroccan Foreign Minister also announced Morocco’s decision to join the International Mediation Organization, launched by China and headquartered in Hong Kong, based on the Kingdom’s belief in the importance of this initiative for enhancing dialogue and international cooperation.
