The Italian club Sassuolo has finalized a deal to sign Moroccan international striker Walid Cheddira from Napoli. This move aims to strengthen Sassuolo’s attacking line in preparation for the upcoming season.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Sassuolo has reached a definitive agreement with Napoli’s management regarding the player’s contract, thus ending a lengthy period of speculation about his future, during which his name had been linked with several Italian and Greek clubs.
Cheddira, 27, returns to Serie A after a successful stint with Bari before transferring to Napoli in the summer of 2023. Last season, he was loaned to Espanyol in Spain, where he played 23 matches, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
This new chapter offers the Moroccan forward an opportunity to reaffirm himself in Serie A and seek a regular spot in Sassuolo’s lineup, with aspirations to regain the scoring form that distinguished him in previous experiences.
