Amine Benhashim, the coach of Wydad Athletic Club, expressed his complete satisfaction with the performance of his players after their victory with a score of 1-0 against Kawkab Marrakech in the opening round of the professional league.

During the press conference following the match, Benhashim confirmed that the team had prepared well throughout the week, despite some surprises from the opponent. He stated, “We knew some details about Kawkab, but their last match revealed new aspects of their playing style and the quality of their players.”

He pointed out that the beginning was not easy, especially after the early penalty save made by Mehdi Benabid, whom he described as the key player in turning the course of the game, adding, “We managed to maintain defensive balance, and Benabid was crucial in keeping us in the match.”

Benhashim also highlighted that his team created numerous opportunities, particularly through the flanks; however, they failed to capitalize on them effectively, noting that the spaces left by the Marrakech team were not fully exploited.

The coach also discussed the preparation period before the season, saying, “We played around 14 friendly matches, and the main objective was to create harmony among the players, especially the new arrivals.”

Benhashim concluded his remarks with a message to the fans, emphasizing that their aspirations are legitimate: “The audience deserves to see a high-level performance, and it is not acceptable to deliver a level below expectations. We are always working to provide the best, relying on players capable of making a difference and achieving results.”
