New York, September 21, 2025 /MAP/ Under the royal instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch is heading the Moroccan delegation participating in the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Mr. Akhannouch is accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, during the official proceedings.
The 80th session, held under the theme “Together We Achieve Better Results: Eighty Years and More for Peace, Development, and Human Rights,” will see the launch of high-level discussions with the participation of leaders from various countries, governments, and senior international officials.
This session will focus on issues of peace, sustainable development, and the climate crisis, coinciding with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations during a high-level meeting on Monday.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will hold summits on climate and sustainable, inclusive global economy. The agenda also includes discussions on the two-state solution in the Middle East, sustainable development goals, prevention of non-communicable diseases, mental health promotion, and nuclear disarmament.
