The Moroccan Prime Minister, Aziz Akhannouch, stated in his speech before the United Nations General Assembly that the Kingdom views sports as more than just competition or entertainment; it is a source of peace, a catalyst for empowerment and social inclusion, and a symbol of international cooperation and dialogue between cultures.
Akhannouch emphasized that Morocco’s joint hosting of the 2030 World Cup, in collaboration with Spain and Portugal, represents an exceptional international event, noting that this occasion serves as a true tool for cultural diplomacy and international influence, with sustainable impacts on economic, social, and human development.
The Prime Minister underscored that Morocco’s organization of the World Cup reflects, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom’s ability to engage in projects with a global dimension, utilize its infrastructure and national talents, and showcase the bright face of Africa on the international stage, asserting that sports thus becomes a bridge for cooperation and understanding among peoples and cultures.
