Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi will miss the 2025 Ballon d’Or ceremony scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, in the French capital, Paris. This comes after the decision by the French league to postpone the classic match between Paris Saint-Germain and Olympique Marseille to tomorrow due to thunderstorms that hit the city of Marseille on Sunday evening.
The highly anticipated clash was set to take place tonight before being postponed to ensure the safety of players and fans. This led the Paris Saint-Germain management to keep its players available for tomorrow’s match, except for Ousmane Dembélé, who will attend the ceremony despite missing the classic due to injury.
Alongside Hakimi, Vitinha, Nuno Mendes, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will also miss the ceremony. Dembélé will be among those attending, along with Désiré.
Hakimi’s absence from this global event is disappointing for his fans, especially since he has been one of the prominent Arab faces in recent European and global competitions. However, his commitments to his club have forced him to miss this occasion.
