Royal Gendarmerie in Fnideq Arrests Network Involved in Human Smuggling

A special team from the Royal Gendarmerie in Fnideq, in coordination with the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations and the Central Intelligence and Documentation Service in Rabat, succeeded in apprehending a second suspect in a case involving online incitement for illegal migration and mass assaults on the fictional borders of Ceuta.

Informed sources noted that the operation followed the prosecution of a minor suspect from Sidi Allal El Bahraoui, who was presented before the judiciary in Tetouan, on suspicion of creating a WhatsApp group to incite mass illegal migration from the shores of Fnideq.

The sources added that the Royal Gendarmerie continued to track potential extensions of human smuggling networks in several Moroccan cities, utilizing modern techniques to uncover the identities of those behind these electronic groups that spread misleading content to attract youth.

Data indicated that investigators, in coordination with the public prosecutor’s office, listened to several suspects and informants who exchanged phone calls with those responsible for creating these groups, urging young people toward risky adventures across the sea.

In a related context, teams from the Royal Gendarmerie and Fnideq, in cooperation with the National Security, managed to arrest the mastermind of a gang specialized in human smuggling and trafficking. This individual was subject to over seven arrest warrants due to his criminal activities.

The detainee has been placed in police custody pending ongoing judicial investigations, waiting to uncover his accomplices and present them before the justice system.

This operation is part of the efforts of the Royal Gendarmerie and National Security units to dismantle smuggling networks and protect the lives of adventurous youth attempting illegal crossings to the other side.
