The Ministry of Interior reaffirms its commitment to implementing royal directives to enhance security, development, and reinforce the democratic path

On the occasion of the Moroccan people’s celebrations for the 26th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s ascension to the throne, the Minister of Interior held an important working meeting on Friday, August 1, 2025, in Tetouan with governors and officials responsible for the territorial administration and central services of the ministry. This meeting also brought together senior security officials, including the Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, the Director General of National Security, the Director General of Territorial Surveillance, the Inspector General of Auxiliary Forces, the Director General of Civil Protection, and the General Delegate for Prison Administration and Reintegration.

The meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on the royal high directives highlighted in the Throne Speech on July 29, 2025, which outlined a clear roadmap for all components of the Ministry of Interior aimed at improving public administration and monitoring social issues across various regions and provinces of the Kingdom. In this context, the significance of the development model for the southern regions was emphasized, which has brought about significant transformations in infrastructure and development projects, in addition to valuing natural resources and investing their revenues for the benefit of the local population.

Turning to security matters, the meeting addressed major challenges, highlighting the ongoing efforts by security services to combat terrorist plots and protect national security while fighting all forms of crime. These security efforts reflect a deep commitment to prioritizing the security of citizens in all critical issues.

In this vein, participants discussed preparations for the upcoming electoral events, reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to taking all necessary measures to ensure the integrity and transparency of the electoral process, adopting a participatory approach with political parties. This commitment reflects the ministry’s dedication to strengthening the democratic process and ensuring effective participation from all stakeholders.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss several other vital initiatives, including continuing to empower regions to exercise all their autonomous competencies and launching a “new territorial dynamic,” as well as highlighting the role of the National Initiative for Human Development as a key partner in reducing disparities and enhancing infrastructure and human capital in the Kingdom.

In conclusion, the Minister of Interior reiterated his ministry’s full and responsible engagement in implementing the royal high directives aimed at reinforcing the democratic path and achieving comprehensive development across the Kingdom. This commitment comes under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who remains the focal point of concern for all components of the ministry in serving the nation and its citizens.
