The Regional Directorate of Health and Social Protection in Souss-Massa announced on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, that it has launched an urgent investigation regarding images circulated on social media showing some patients lying on the floor in the emergency department of the Hassan II Regional Hospital in Agadir.
The directorate clarified that the investigation relied on testimonies from health staff, accounts from patients, a review of surveillance camera recordings, in addition to available administrative and medical data.
The results indicated that the individuals depicted in the images were victims of a traffic accident and had been admitted in accordance with established medical and organizational procedures, receiving necessary healthcare while respecting the dignity and rights of the patients.
The directorate emphasized that the circulated images were deliberately prepared to mislead public opinion, noting that such behavior could disrupt the normal operation of healthcare facilities and hinder service delivery to patients.
The statement added that medical teams continued to work professionally despite the significant pressure resulting from high patient turnout on that day, underscoring their commitment to ensuring the continuity of health services in a manner that respects patients’ rights.
The directorate concluded by reiterating its ongoing commitment to improving the quality of reception and health services, while reserving the right to take legal action against anyone attempting to undermine the work of health institutions.
