Nador Prison Denies Rumors of Prisoner Abuse

- in Society

The local administration of the Nador prison has denied recent reports suggesting that one of its inmates suffered physical abuse or mistreatment, asserting that these claims are baseless.

The statement emphasized that “the situation inside the prison is proceeding normally, with no indications of tension among inmates,” pointing out that the information circulated by certain media outlets falls under the category of fake news that the institution has previously addressed legally.

Concerning the visit by the father of the inmate in question, the statement clarified that the father attempted to visit the facility on August 18, 2025, but the inmate refused to meet him, justifying his decision by stating that his arrest was a result of his father’s actions. The administration added that an official record documenting this refusal was created.

The institution also reminded that it has filed two complaints with the relevant public prosecutor’s office against the media outlet responsible for publishing these allegations, due to what it deemed a “conveyance of false claims intended to mislead public opinion and tarnish the institution’s reputation.”
