Israeli Soldiers Killed and Injured, Four Others Missing

The city of Gaza witnessed significant developments on the night of Saturday, August 30, in the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, described by Israeli media as “the biggest event since the Flood of Al-Aqsa.” Reports indicate that several Israeli soldiers were killed, and 11 others were seriously injured, alongside four soldiers whose whereabouts are unknown, raising fears that they may have been captured by Palestinian resistance forces.

Israeli media sources reported that a series of quality operations carried out by the resistance in the Al-Zeitoun and Al-Sabra neighborhoods began with an ambush that resulted in casualties among the Israeli army. Reports confirmed that the army activated the “Hannibal Protocol,” which permits the use of force to prevent soldiers from being taken prisoner, even if it leads to their deaths.

In a serious field development, Israeli helicopters designated for evacuating soldiers came under heavy fire, believed to have targeted forces from the 162nd Division and the 401st Brigade.

Israeli media confirmed that the army has begun to withdraw its forces from the Al-Zeitoun neighborhood, repositioning them in barracks, while a military censorship imposed a publication ban on details regarding the incident involving the four missing soldiers.

Preliminary reports indicated a repeated call for evacuation helicopters amid ongoing gunfire, while search operations for the four missing soldiers continued.
