Infantino: Morocco Deserved the Championship in CHAN and Confirms Its Superiority on the Continental Level
The President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, expressed his admiration for the level of the Moroccan national team following their victory in the African Nations Championship for local players (CHAN 2024), securing the title for the third time in their history.
In statements to the MAP agency, Infantino described Morocco as “a great country in football,” noting that the national team’s triumph over Madagascar with a score of 3-2 in the final hosted at Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani highlights its continental superiority.
Infantino added that the match was “difficult and a true final by all standards,” affirming that the Moroccan team deserved to win, praising the collective performance and fighting spirit of the players.
He remarked on the enthusiasm of the fans, considering it reflects the significant development taking place in African football and expressing his happiness for what Morocco has achieved, as well as for the continental team in general.
Infantino confirmed that this victory enhances Morocco’s position in African football and demonstrates its capability to compete in all continental tournaments.
