Arrest of a Person in Khémisset and Seizure of Over 800 Pills in a Joint Security Operation

On Monday, August 11, 2025, security services arrested an individual from Khémisset on suspicion of possessing and trafficking narcotic medication pills. This operation was a collaborative effort involving the local team from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DST), the judicial police in Tiflet, and the royal gendarmerie. The operation took place at the permanent judicial checkpoint at the entrance of Sidi Allal El Bahraoui, resulting in the seizure of over 800 pills. This incident follows the arrest of a woman at the same checkpoint just 48 hours earlier, who was found in possession of 1,530 narcotic pills.

Security data indicate that the suspect was planning to distribute this quantity within Khémisset, but the proactive intervention prevented this. This operation is part of a series of significant interventions, with local authorities having executed four similar operations in the past two weeks, leading to the arrest of four individuals, including one woman, and the confiscation of a total of 3,400 narcotic pills.

The suspect has been placed under judicial custody while investigations overseen by the competent public prosecutor are underway, aiming to determine the potential networks involved in the criminal activity and identify other suspects. The individual will be presented before the Tiflet Court of First Instance once the investigation is completed.

These actions are part of the security plan implemented by the Tiflet police station and the local DST team, intending to combat the risks posed by drugs and psychoactive substances, while enhancing coordination among various agencies to tackle all forms of trafficking and consumption.
