The Moroccan Organization for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption has announced that Abdul Latif Hamouchi, the Director General of National Police and Territorial Surveillance, has been named as the best security figure of 2025. This recognition is attributed to his efforts in enhancing security and stability on both national and international levels.
The organization clarified in a statement received by “Express TV” that this selection was based on legal and field criteria, emphasizing that Hamouchi has managed, through his competence, acumen, and patriotism, to present a pioneering security model that is widely acknowledged both inside and outside Morocco.
This accolade follows the organization’s previous selection of Hamouchi as the best security figure in 2022, highlighting the continuity of his contributions and his reformist approach in leading two vital institutions: the General Directorate of National Police and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance.
The statement affirmed that Abdul Latif Hamouchi’s professional journey has been marked by a clear strategic vision that has enabled him to modernize the Moroccan security infrastructure and enhance its technical and intelligence capabilities, positioning it among the most effective agencies in the Arab and African regions. The organization also noted that the royal trust conferred upon him by King Mohammed VI, through his assignment to manage the two security entities, reflects official recognition of his competence and dedication to serving the nation.
The same source indicated that the Director-General of National Police has received praise from international partners, particularly in the fields of counter-terrorism and organized crime. Thanks to his efforts, Morocco has become a key partner in strengthening regional and international security. He has recently joined the new formation of the Supreme Council of the Arab University for Security Sciences, alongside prominent security and academic figures.
On a national level, the organization highlighted that Hamouchi has engaged in social and humanitarian initiatives aimed at the men and women in uniform, whether through improving their working conditions or providing health support, in addition to his commitment to integrating a rights-based approach in security work and upholding governance principles while engaging with civil society.
The Moroccan Organization for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption believes that this award reflects Abdul Latif Hamouchi’s prominent status as a symbol of integrity, responsibility, and dedication to serving the nation and its citizens.
