A high-ranking French delegation participates in the opening of the Kenitra Festival and praises Moroccan cultural initiatives

The first edition of the Kenitra Festival witnessed notable diplomatic and cultural attendance on the evening of Saturday, August 23, 2025, marked by the presence of a distinguished French delegation, which included prominent figures from the local political scene in France. This reflects the festival’s importance as a platform for cultural exchange and the strengthening of relations between Morocco and France.

The French delegation included Idriss El Tazi, President of the Association of Elected Officials in France, Sihem Labich, Deputy Mayor of Saint-Étienne, and Abdelkarim Mershati, Deputy Mayor of Guénange. The members of the delegation closely followed the festival’s events, expressing their admiration for the artistic performances and the large audience attendance, which exceeded 150,000 spectators according to official statistics.

The French figures expressed their support for Moroccan cultural initiatives, highlighting the role of such festivals in enhancing artistic and cultural exchange between the two countries, as well as in contributing to the development of local tourism and showcasing the city’s cultural heritage.

The evening featured a variety of artistic performances, starting with the symphony “The Huit Ghrebawi,” leading to performances by the band “Ash Kayn” and the artist Aminux, concluding with a performance by artist Hatim Ammor, where the audience interacted widely with the diverse segments.

Organizers confirmed that the presence of prominent French figures bolsters the status of the Kenitra Festival as an important annual cultural and artistic event, contributing to strengthening cultural partnerships between Morocco and France, and opening new avenues for cooperation in the fields of art, tourism, and local creativity.
