A Grand Official Celebration for Throne Day at the Moroccan Consulate in Tarragona

A grand official celebration of the 26th anniversary of Throne Day was held at the Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Tarragona, attended by significant representatives of Spanish authorities, along with civil and Moroccan figures. This moment of celebration reflects the deep ties between the Moroccan community and the institutions of their homeland.

The event was attended by the Government Delegate of Catalonia in Tarragona, as well as mayors from the cities of Tarragona, Vila-seca, Cambrils, El Vendrell, La Pobla de Mafumet, Borges del Camp, and Roda de Berà. Additionally, members of the Spanish Senate and the Catalan Parliament were present, along with civil, military, security, and judicial officials, as well as economic, academic, social, cultural, and religious actors, media representatives, and members of the Moroccan community in the region.

In her speech during the ceremony, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco, Ikram Shaheen, highlighted the significant achievements of King Mohammed VI since ascending to the throne, affirming that wise royal leadership has placed Morocco on a path of continuous stability and development, both nationally and internationally.

The Consul General emphasized the special attention King Mohammed VI pays to the issues of Moroccans worldwide and his commitment to strengthening cultural and religious ties with them, in accordance with the Moroccan moderate model based on the institution of the Imara of the Faithful.

She also addressed the royal strategic initiatives, particularly the Atlantic Initiative, which reflects an advanced vision for Morocco’s regional and international positioning.

The consulate noted that the high official attendance at this event reflects the strength of relations between Morocco and Spain, particularly with the Catalonia region, and embodies both parties’ desire to expand cooperation and deepen friendship ties.

The ceremony concluded with diverse musical and artistic performances in celebration of this national occasion that unites Moroccans of all ages and backgrounds.
