Updating Employment Research in Morocco to Keep Pace with New Labor Market Transformations
The High Commission for Planning, in partnership with the International Labor Office, organized a consultative workshop with users of labor market data as part of the national employment research update process. This initiative aims to align labor market monitoring mechanisms with new economic and social challenges through a participatory approach.
This update responds to the profound transformations occurring in the labor market, characterized by the emergence of new phenomena such as labor migration, a green economy, and new work patterns. The Commission seeks to enrich the content of the national research and improve data quality, ensuring alignment with the latest international standards for labor market statistics.
The workshop provided an opportunity for primary data users to identify their needs and prioritize topics to be included in the new research format, as well as to exchange views on the best ways to disseminate labor market data.
A joint statement emphasized that this initiative underscores the High Commission for Planning’s commitment to providing accurate, high-quality statistics that serve policymakers, economic actors, researchers, and civil society, with the goal of enhancing employment policies based on reliable and current data.
