Trade exchanges between Morocco and Chile have recorded a steady annual growth rate of 31.5% in recent years. According to data released by the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, based on figures from the local central bank, this growth has been consistent since 2019.

The volume of trade between the two countries rose from $27 million in 2019 to $105 million in 2024, reflecting a strong dynamism in bilateral economic relations and an increasing diversity of exchanged goods and services.

While Chile’s exports to Morocco saw a modest annual growth rate of 2.6%, its imports from the Kingdom surged with an average yearly increase of 52.2%. This resulted in a trade surplus for Morocco, amounting to $60 million in 2024.

Chile’s imports from Morocco consist mainly of phosphates, cars and spare parts, and oils. Meanwhile, Chilean exports to the Moroccan market include walnuts, fish, and machinery.

This rapid development in trade exchanges between the two parties indicates an increasing economic convergence, with promising potential for deepening cooperation in new sectors that enhance South-South economic integration.
