The league sets the date for the transfer window and the start of the new football season
In a new organizational move, the management committee of the National Professional Football League held a meeting on Monday to discuss several issues in preparation for the upcoming football season, with the primary focus on the summer transfer window.
During this meeting, it was announced that the summer transfer market will open from July 1 to August 15, providing national clubs with the timeframe to finalize their transactions and enhance their squads before the official competitions begin.
The league aims, with this timeline, to ensure a smooth and organized start to the season, especially in light of some clubs’ commitments to continental competitions, which bring their own pressures and logistical challenges.
It was also decided that the “Inwi” Professional League’s first division matches will kick off on Friday, August 22, 2025, while the second division contests will begin on Friday, September 5.
