Increase in Aerospace and Phosphate Exports, Decline in Textiles and Automobiles During the First Half of 2025

Morocco’s aerospace sector witnessed significant export growth in the first six months of 2025, reaching over 14.13 billion dirhams—a rise of 8.8% compared to the same period in 2024. This development was attributed to an increase in assembly sales valued at 728 million dirhams, along with a 427 million dirham growth in exports of electrical wiring interconnection systems (EWIS).

Phosphate exports and its derivatives also improved by 18.9%, totaling 46.56 billion dirhams. This growth benefitted from a rise in sales of natural and chemical fertilizers by 4.902 billion dirhams, as well as an increase of 1.63 billion dirhams in raw phosphate exports, alongside phosphoric acid which recorded a growth of 857 million dirhams.

The agriculture and food industry sector grew by 3.2%, bringing its total exports to 48.55 billion dirhams. Additionally, other industries saw their exports rise by 13.1%, reaching 15.68 billion dirhams, reflecting positive dynamics in some high-value-added production sectors.

Conversely, exports from the electronics and electrical sector declined by 7.8%, stabilizing at 8.59 billion dirhams. Moreover, other mineral extracts saw a decrease of 4.5%, amounting to 2.55 billion dirhams. The textiles and leather sector experienced a 4% drop, reaching 22.52 billion dirhams, while automobile exports decreased by 3.6% to 77.6 billion dirhams. This trend underscores a mixed performance across various export sectors during the first half of the current year.
