The Headquarters of Kenitra: From Local Administration to an Iranian Prison and Courtroom in a Global Film

Filming for a global movie about political dissidents in Iran began yesterday morning in Kenitra, under special security and organizational arrangements.

The production crew has transformed the headquarters of Kenitra into a set resembling an Iranian prison, while also converting the meeting room into a courtroom designated for the trial of personalities opposing the Iranian regime.

Filming is expected to continue for an additional two days, with technical and artistic teams capturing scenes within various facilities of the municipality, which have undergone precise preparations including repainting, reorganizing offices, and allocating new spaces for filming.

This project is part of major political cinematic productions, and international actors are anticipated to participate, although the identity of the director and the names of the crew have yet to be officially announced.

Sources within the municipality confirmed that the filming is being coordinated with local authorities, who provided the necessary facilitations, reflecting Kenitra’s emerging status as a new destination for global filmmakers seeking diverse spaces that fit the architectural style required for their projects.

The event has garnered the attention of residents and social media users, who shared images of the municipality in its new guise, with expectations that this film could be one of the most significant productions filmed in Morocco in recent years.
