The General Delegation for Prison Administration and Reintegration has categorically denied the claims made in a video posted by an individual residing outside Morocco, which alleged the death of a police officer detained in the local prison of Ain Sebaâ.

In a clarifying statement issued today, Saturday, the delegation confirmed that the individual in question, identified as (A.Q.), is still alive and is currently held at the local prison of Arajate 2, not in Ain Sebaâ as claimed by the video’s publisher.

The delegation explained that the aforementioned inmate is being prosecuted in connection with a case related to the participation in the insult of public employees during the performance of their duties, insulting a legally organized body, and participating in broadcasting and distributing a composition of false statements and facts through information media for the purpose of defamation.

The same source added that the individual is currently serving an 18-month prison sentence based on a preliminary judgment, rather than the five years mentioned in the video, which the delegation described as “false and misleading.”

The statement emphasized that disseminating such false allegations is part of a systematic campaign targeting national institutions and bodies, under a broader plan aimed at tarnishing Morocco’s image and harming its symbols, serving hostile agendas.

The delegation urged caution regarding such false news, affirming its commitment to keep the public informed of the facts whenever necessary.
