Teachers’ Unions and the Association of School Directors in Ain Sebaâ Demand Implementation of the Law in the Case of the Suspended Guidance Inspector and Affirm: No One is Above Accountability
The most representative education unions, alongside the regional office of the National Association of Primary School Directors in Morocco’s Ain Sebaâ neighborhood, organized a protest in front of the regional education directorate. They called for the strict application of the law regarding the case of a suspended educational guidance inspector amid ongoing disciplinary proceedings that have sparked widespread debate within the educational system.
This protest was organized at the initiative of the National Education Union (UMT), the National Education Syndicate (CDT), the Free Educational Union (UGTM), and the National Union of Education (FDT), under the slogan “Men and Women of Education in All Their Categories Are Equal Before the Law.” A significant number of educational and administrative staff participated, emphasizing the need to respect administrative decision-making independence and rejecting any attempts to obstruct ongoing disciplinary processes.
The unions asserted that the individual in question had committed practices that were deemed “irresponsible and unprofessional,” fitting within the realm of serious lapses and grave mistakes, alongside a pattern of violations against administrative staff and educational guidance personnel. These behaviors were documented through administrative reports and official correspondences that led to her temporary suspension, pending the completion of the referral process to the disciplinary council.
Participants in the protest condemned external attempts to influence the case, labeling them as “misleading campaigns and systematic pressures” aimed at creating a climate of doubt regarding administrative decisions. They affirmed that “the law does not freeze under pressure” and that respecting professional ethics begins with adherence to regulatory standards.
The unions stressed that the case does not have any exceptional status and should be treated like other disciplinary cases within the framework of the law, rejecting emotional rhetoric and attempts to exploit the issue for personal or union grievances.
In conclusion, participants praised the positive atmosphere at the Ain Sebaâ regional directorate, asserting that adherence to legal procedures is crucial for maintaining administrative and educational stability and for achieving the positive results recorded by the directorate in implementing roadmap projects and improving the performance of educational institutions.
