The Economic, Social and Environmental Council, chaired by Abdelkader Amara, held its 172nd ordinary session on Thursday, marked by discussions on two main files.
The Council approved a draft opinion regarding this vital sector, which is considered an important strategy to break the isolation of rural populations, reduce territorial disparities, and support local development. The opinion presents proposals to establish a high-quality, integrated, and sustainable rural transport system aimed at improving the living conditions of residents in remote areas.
The Council also discussed its opinion draft on the impact of this European mechanism, set to come into effect in January 2026, focusing on its implications for Moroccan exports. Additionally, the Council highlighted the opportunities linked to Morocco’s strategy to reduce carbon emissions, aiming to enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.
In another matter, the members were informed of a referral request from the House of Representatives regarding Bill No. 026.25 related to the reorganization of the National Press Council, which has been assigned to the standing committee concerned with knowledge and information, which has already commenced its work.
