CAF Investigates Violations by the Algerian Women’s National Team

The Disciplinary Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the opening of an official investigation concerning the Algerian women’s national team, following what it described as “suspicions of violations of the regulations and laws of the continental body” during their participation in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2024.”

An official statement from CAF indicated that the Disciplinary Committee has decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings against the Algerian team, without disclosing specific details of the potential violations. It only mentioned the existence of “alleged violations of the organizing regulations,” pending the results of ongoing investigations.

The statement further added that CAF will not provide any additional comments until the legal process is completed and a final decision concerning the case is reached.

It is noteworthy that the Algerian delegation stirred significant controversy on social media platforms after they attempted to hide the logo of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation from the substitutes’ chairs using primitive methods such as tape, a move that was deemed as both ridiculous and astonishing.
