Slight Decline in Industrial Production Prices in Morocco During June 2025
The indicator for production prices in the manufacturing sector, excluding oil refining, recorded a slight decrease of 0.1% in June 2025 compared to May, according to the latest data released by the High Commission for Planning.
This decline is primarily attributed to a 0.4% drop in food industry prices and an 0.8% decrease in the prices of machinery and equipment manufacturing.
Conversely, some sectors recorded price increases, most notably the clothing industry, which saw a rise of 0.9%, and the mining sector, which experienced a modest increase of 0.2%.
On another note, production prices in the extraction, electricity production and distribution, and water production and distribution sectors remained stable during the same period, according to the Commission’s data.
Detailed tables also showed that prices remained stable in several other industrial branches, including pharmaceuticals, chemical industries, furniture manufacturing, and automotive production.
It is worth noting that the production price index measures price developments at the point of exit from industrial factories and serves as a key indicator for monitoring inflation trends and analyzing economic conditions by sector. The year 2018 is used as the base year for calculating the index, with a reference index set at 100.
These preliminary data are released by the indicator statistics department of the High Commission for Planning, the official body responsible for producing and disseminating economic statistics in Morocco.
