Police in the regional security of Safi arrested three individuals aged between 28 and 54 on the evening of Tuesday, July 29, on suspicion of their involvement in a network engaged in international drug and psychotropic substance trafficking.
The operation was carried out in coordination with the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance, resulting in the suspects being apprehended in a rural area surrounding the city. Authorities seized 60 bundles of hashish, weighing a total of 2,460 kilograms, intended for smuggling, from a house owned by one of the detainees.
Additionally, a truck suspected of being used to facilitate this criminal activity was confiscated, pending the outcomes of the judicial investigation opened under the supervision of the relevant public prosecutor’s office, to identify any other potential accomplices.
This operation forms part of ongoing and intensified efforts by national security forces and the Directorate for Territorial Surveillance to combat international drug trafficking networks.
