Riyad Mahrez plays the game of truth and shakes the pillars of military propaganda!

In a scene reminiscent of magic rebounding on the wizard, Riyad Mahrez, captain of the Algerian national team, has broken through the facade of official propaganda of his country, delivering a soft and embarrassing slap to a campaign that has spent years trying to tarnish Morocco’s image. While the official media outlets in Algeria busy themselves portraying Morocco as a visionless and incompetent enemy, Mahrez publicly praised Moroccan infrastructure, affirming that the upcoming African Cup of Nations on Moroccan soil will be held under the best conditions.

In a candid interview with “MEDIA CARRÉ,” Mahrez stated, “Morocco is a neighboring country with all the excellent conditions; the stadiums are good, and the pitches as well, and these are things that will put us in a good position.” This statement alone is enough to leave the officials of Algerian state media stunned, as they have bombarded the public with slogans of “our organizational superiority” and “our historical right” to host tournaments, only for their captain to realistically and calmly acknowledge that Morocco has become a model to emulate.

Mahrez did not stop there; he continued with what could be seen in the presidential palace as an act of political defiance: “I hope the next African Cup of Nations will be a wonderful tournament.”

Thus, quite transparently, Mahrez’s words intersected with a truth that the Algerian regime refuses to acknowledge: Morocco, which has neither begged “CAF” nor launched campaigns of “diplomatic sobbing,” has become an African football hub, and its readiness can only be questioned in circles clinging to illusions of lost glories.

In the end, it seems Mahrez’s sentiment conveys: Leave the slogans aside, for when football meets reality, the mask drops and the echo falls silent.
