On the Throne Day, the King Calls for Brotherhood with Algeria and Affirms that the Moroccan Sahara is an Inviolable Right
In a high-profile address on the anniversary of the Throne Day, His Majesty King Mohammed VI reaffirmed Morocco’s steadfast positions on several strategic issues, primarily its relationship with neighboring Algeria and the ongoing resolution of the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
A Genuine Openness Toward Algeria and a Call for Responsible Dialogue
In a brotherly and sincere tone, His Majesty expressed his continuous commitment to extending a hand toward Algeria, affirming that the Algerian people remain a brotherly nation, linked to Moroccans by deep human and historical ties, as well as by their shared language, religion, and common destiny.
The King’s speech stated, “As King of Morocco, my position is clear and unwavering; the Algerian people are a brotherly nation. Therefore, I have always sought to extend a hand to our brothers in Algeria and expressed Morocco’s readiness for open and responsible dialogue—brotherly and sincere—on various issues pending between our two countries.”
