On the occasion of Throne Day, Morocco strengthens its healthcare system with 200 new centers across 8 regions.
On Friday, July 25, 2025, Morocco launched 200 new healthcare centers in eight regions of the kingdom, marking a significant step toward enhancing the national health system and expanding basic health coverage, coinciding with the celebrations of the 26th anniversary of Throne Day.
This achievement, part of the royal initiative for social protection, was inaugurated by Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amin Tehrawi, starting from the urban health center in Al Quds in Errachidia, in the presence of the Wali of the Draâ-Tafilalet region and the governor of Errachidia, Said Zaniber, and the governor of Tinghir, Ismail Haikal, along with regional health directors who followed the event remotely.
The newly established health centers have undergone comprehensive rehabilitation and equipping and include regions such as Draâ-Tafilalet (40 centers), Fès-Meknès (39), the East (31), Guelmim-Oued Noun (30), Marrakech-Safi (24), Souss-Massa (21), Béni Mellal-Khénifra (10), and Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (5).
The ministry has mobilized medical, nursing, and administrative human resources to ensure the operation of these facilities and has equipped them with modern medical devices to provide services that include general and specialized consultations, chronic disease monitoring, maternal and child health, school health, nursing care, and epidemiological vigilance.
This project is part of a plan to rehabilitate and equip 1,400 health centers across Morocco, aiming to guarantee a modern, accessible, and balanced healthcare offering that meets the increasing demand for health care and promotes spatial equity in access to treatment.
