Morocco strengthens its position as the largest supplier of fresh fruits and vegetables to Spain
Morocco continues to achieve strong export performance in the agricultural sector towards Europe, recording a remarkable 28% increase in its fresh fruits and vegetables exports to the Spanish market this year compared to last year, reaching a value of 672 million euros.
This performance has solidified Morocco’s status as the primary supplier of agricultural products to Spain, with its exports accounting for 33% of the total imports of fresh fruits and vegetables into this European country, which amounted to 2.006 billion euros during the same period, according to data published by the Spanish agricultural website “Orto Info.”
The source confirmed that this growth is not a temporary phenomenon but rather a clear upward trend, as Morocco’s agricultural exports to Spain increased by 56% over the last five years, rising from 432 million euros in the first quarter of 2021 to 672 million euros during the same period in 2025.
Moroccan exports also witnessed significant growth in terms of quantity, increasing by 26% this year to reach 254.38 million kilograms, indicating the kingdom’s growing capacity to meet the rising demand from European markets, especially Spain, for fresh agricultural products.
