Morocco and Vietnam Strengthen Their Strategic Partnership, Emphasizing the Role of Rabat as a Bridge to Asia and Hanoi to Africa

In the ongoing dynamic of Moroccan diplomacy and the enhancement of partnership relations with Southeast Asian countries, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch met today in Rabat with the President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Tran Thanh Man, who is on an official visit to Morocco leading a high-level delegation.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the prospects for bilateral cooperation between Rabat and Hanoi, under the guidance of the leaders of both countries, King Mohammed VI and President Vo Van Thuong, to develop friendly relations and cooperation between the two nations.

During the discussions, the Prime Minister praised the strong ties between Morocco and Vietnam, highlighting the shared political will to elevate bilateral relations to new heights, calling for the strengthening of joint initiatives, especially in the economic and investment sectors.

For his part, Tran Thanh Man emphasized the importance of developing parliamentary diplomacy, indicating that his visit to Morocco aims to elevate economic partnership to the level of the distinguished political and diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office, the strategic roles that both Morocco and Vietnam could play were emphasized, with Rabat positioned as a gateway for Vietnamese investments into Africa, while Hanoi could serve as a bridge for Morocco to the markets of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which includes over 600 million consumers.

The meeting also witnessed an exchange of views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest, along with praise for the progress made in parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
