Morocco and Vietnam Strengthen Economic and Diplomatic Partnership
The Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch held talks today in Rabat with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Tran Thanh Man. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation between Morocco and Vietnam across various fields, particularly in economic and parliamentary areas.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister highlighted the strong ties that bind the two countries and reiterated the mutual desire to elevate these relations under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of Vietnam, Vo Van Thuong. He emphasized the importance of supporting initiatives aimed at expanding the horizons of bilateral economic cooperation.
The Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam remarked that his visit to Morocco, at the head of a high-level delegation, is part of efforts to bolster parliamentary diplomacy and enhance economic partnerships between Rabat and Hanoi, reflecting the level of existing political and diplomatic relations.
The meeting also underscored Morocco’s significant potential as a main platform and gateway for Vietnamese investments in the African continent. In contrast, Vietnam can connect Morocco with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), which represents a huge market of over 600 million consumers.
The discussions also included an exchange of views on several regional and international issues of mutual interest, praising the notable progress in strengthening parliamentary relations between the two countries with a view to expanding cooperation in high-value-added sectors.
