Moroccan Tourism Continues Its Growth: 54 Billion Dirhams in Revenues Over Six Months and a 19% Increase in Visitor Numbers

The Moroccan tourism sector maintained its upward trajectory during the first half of 2025, achieving record revenues of 54 billion dirhams, marking an increase of approximately 9.6% compared to the same period in 2024. This performance is attributed to a significant rise in the number of tourists visiting the kingdom, which saw a growth rate of 19%.

These results reflect the renewed dynamism of the sector and highlight Morocco’s ability to enhance its appeal as a tourist destination capable of attracting visitors and increasing foreign currency revenues.

The Minister of Tourism, Traditional Industry, and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatima Zahra Amour, confirmed that these positive indicators are part of the implementation of the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap, which aims to position Morocco as a destination with high added value.

She emphasized that the development of offerings and the activation of destinations are essential pillars for increasing tourist spending, extending their stay, and strengthening their ties to Morocco as a preferred choice.

The minister also highlighted the importance of improving air connectivity and intensifying promotional campaigns nationally and internationally to support this parallel growth in tourist numbers and revenues.

This dynamism is accompanied by a series of initiatives aimed at diversifying the tourism offering and enhancing its economic impact across various regions, including:

– The “Go Siyaha” program to develop new regional tourism experiences;
– The launch of specialized incubators in areas such as Moroccan cuisine, digital innovation, and smart services;
– Establishing a territorial project bank with 900 ideas ready to be transformed into tangible and marketable tourism offerings.

These results confirm that the adopted vision is moving in the right direction, driven by the desire to convert the available natural and cultural potentials into an effective economic lever that serves the comprehensive development of the country.
