Moroccan-French Forum in Tangier to Enhance University Alternating Training
The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Tangier, affiliated with Abdelmalek Essaadi University, hosted the Moroccan-French forum on alternating training on Wednesday, July 9, 2025. The event was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, Azeddine Midaoui, and the French Ambassador to Morocco, Christophe Lecourtier.
This forum aims to strengthen cooperation between Morocco and France in higher education, particularly regarding alternating training and dual learning, following the declaration of intent signed on October 28, 2024, during the French president’s visit to Morocco.
The meeting sought to raise awareness among Moroccan universities and national companies about the importance of alternating training, drawing on the French experience and pioneering projects launched within the kingdom. This approach aligns with the ministry’s strategy to professionalize university pathways and adapt them to the labor market’s needs.
The forum witnessed the signing of two agreements: the first between the ministry and the French Embassy in Morocco to develop university alternating training, and the second between the ministry and the French Institute in Morocco to enhance educational, cultural, and university partnerships.
The event brought together more than 300 representatives from Moroccan and French universities, companies, and academic and economic institutions. Notable French institutions in attendance included the National School of Arts and Crafts, ESSEC, CentraleSupélec, EIGSI, ITII, and the University of Technology of Troyes. Major companies such as Renault, Valeo, Capgemini, Vinci, and Bel were also present.
At the conclusion of the forum, recommendations were issued for ministries, universities, and companies, emphasizing the need for institutions to commit to adopting this training model across various regions. The roadmap for 2025-2026 was also presented, which includes:
- Establishing model training programs
- Providing institutional support
- Developing the legal framework
- Strengthening the relationship between universities and businesses
- Implementing incentives to encourage companies to engage in alternating training systems.
