Gianni Infantino Arrives in Morocco Coinciding with Women’s Africa Cup Celebration

This Saturday morning, July 19, 2025, Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, arrived in Morocco for an official visit that aligns with the significant international sports context the kingdom is currently experiencing.
He was welcomed at Rabat-Salé Airport by Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, along with various officials from the sports sector. The reception ceremony highlighted the strong ties between FIFA and the Moroccan federation, as well as Morocco’s growing role on the continental and international football stage.
Infantino’s visit coincides with Morocco hosting the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which is witnessing professional organization and increasing public attendance, further enhancing the positive image of Morocco’s capacity to host major sporting events according to the highest international standards.
During his visit, Infantino is expected to participate in several activities, including attending some matches of the women’s continental competition and visiting various sports infrastructures across the country, including world-class stadiums and training centers.
This visit also comes amid the intensive preparations undertaken by Morocco in partnership with Spain and Portugal to organize the 2030 World Cup. The FIFA leader is anticipated to discuss ways to enhance collaboration on this ambitious project with his Moroccan counterparts.
