Independence Party: His Majesty the King’s Speech Sets the Stage for a New Era of Spatial Justice and Political Renewal
The executive committee of the Independence Party commended the progressive content of the Royal Speech delivered on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of King Mohammed VI’s ascent to the throne, during a meeting chaired by Secretary General Nizar Baraka on Tuesday evening, July 29, in Tetouan.
The committee affirmed that the royal address outlined a new approach to public policies, placing the dignity of citizens at its core through spatial justice and comprehensive development, noting that Morocco has become an emerging model in its surroundings thanks to a proactive royal vision, transforming it into an attractive land for investment through diverse partnerships connecting the kingdom with three billion consumers worldwide.
In the context of regional relations, the party lauded the policy of extending a hand towards Algeria, considering the king’s calls to overcome disputes as stemming from a shared depth and united destiny, serving regional stability and building a strong Maghreb Union.
The committee also reiterated complete solidarity behind His Majesty the King to continue defending the territorial integrity of the kingdom, praising the increasing international support for the autonomy initiative under Moroccan sovereignty, which it described as the realistic and definitive political solution to this fabricated dispute.
On the social front, the committee called for the adoption of a new generation of comprehensive development programs, mindful of the royal directives aimed at reducing disparities and achieving social and spatial justice by promoting rural areas, providing job opportunities, improving basic services, and proactively managing water resources.
Politically, the committee viewed the king’s invitation to prepare the electoral framework for upcoming elections and to open wide consultations as an important step toward consolidating democracy, renewing trust in elected institutions, and enhancing the ethical conduct of political life, in light of royal directives encouraging the development of legislative performance.
The committee concluded by emphasizing the Independence Party’s commitment to serving national and citizen issues and renewing the roles of political actors in line with the new transformations outlined in the royal speech.
