Gianni Infantino: Morocco Among the Global Elite Thanks to Sports Infrastructure

The President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, stated that the sports infrastructure developed in Morocco places the kingdom among the global elite in football. He emphasized that Morocco’s vision, led by King Mohammed VI, to promote football on a global scale is remarkable and ambitious.

Infantino explained in a press statement made during the royal reception for the Throne Day that his recent visit to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat showcased the high quality of sports facilities in the kingdom, expressing his deep admiration for the quality of these installations.

He praised the excellent organization of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, which took place in Morocco from July 5 to 26, commending the impressive results achieved by the Moroccan team during this continental competition, reflecting the growing dynamism of Moroccan football on the continent.

Infantino noted that Morocco will continue to lead on the African and international stages by hosting major tournaments in the near future, including the Men’s Africa Cup of Nations in 2025, the next five editions of the U-17 Women’s World Cup, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted with Spain and Portugal. This reinforces the kingdom’s status as a world-class sports destination.

He expressed pride in the establishment of FIFA’s African office in Morocco, affirming that this center will play a crucial role in serving and developing African and global football, given the kingdom’s strategic location and advanced infrastructure.
