National security and customs officials at the Port of Beni Ensar in Nador thwarted an attempt to smuggle 4,382 narcotic pills into the country on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. The pills were hidden in a commercial vehicle with Moroccan license plates.
The inspection, conducted immediately after the vehicle arrived from one of the French ports, revealed the drugs concealed within four carefully hidden bags. The operation also led to the arrest of the driver, a 29-year-old Moroccan man.
The detainee is currently undergoing judicial investigation overseen by the regional judicial police in Nador, under the authority of the relevant public prosecutor, to identify all potential accomplices involved in this case and to determine any national and international links associated with it.
This operation is part of ongoing intensive security efforts to combat international drug trafficking and to counter all forms of cross-border crime.
