The Moroccan women’s national team has qualified for the final of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations “Morocco 2024,” following their victory over Ghana in a penalty shootout after the match ended in a 1-1 draw at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday evening.
Ghana took the lead in the 26th minute through player Stella Nyamekye, before Sakina Ouzraoui equalized for the Atlas Lionesses in the 55th minute.
The teams remained tied during extra time despite exchanged attempts, leading to a penalty shootout that favored the Moroccan team, securing their place in the final for the second consecutive time.
The Moroccan team will face Nigeria on Saturday, July 26, starting at 9 PM, at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat.
