FIFA President Visits Chefchaouen for a Leisure Trip, Starting with Breakfast at a Local Restaurant
Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, arrived this morning in Chefchaouen, Morocco, for an informal tourism visit, which began with a traditional breakfast at the well-known “Triana” restaurant and café in the city center.
According to sources from Express TV, the international football official arrived in the blue city in a calm atmosphere, accompanied by a small team of aides, without any official media coverage or reception protocols.
Infantino chose to start his tour from the “Triana” space overlooking the old city, where he enjoyed a traditional Moroccan breakfast before heading directly to “Akchour Park,” one of the most famous natural sites in the outskirts of Chefchaouen.
This tourist visit by the FIFA President is a further indication of Chefchaouen’s growing prominence on the global tourism map, especially in light of the heightened interest surrounding Morocco as it prepares to co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
Infantino’s visit comes in an informal context, with no disclosure of the duration of his stay in the city or other potential stops in Morocco.
Photos received by the newspaper capture the moment Infantino arrived at the local café and sat down at a table, interacting amicably with the staff before departing for Akchour.
