Dakhla Launches Educational, Commercial, and Improvement Projects in Celebration of Throne Day
On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s ascension to the throne, several developmental projects were launched and inaugurated in the city of Dakhla, reflecting the ongoing dynamism of the region towards modernization.
The Governor of the Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab region, Ali Khalil, accompanied by elected officials and local authorities, inaugurated the construction of two educational institutions in the Al-Wahda neighborhood, which include a junior high school covering 9,000 square meters at a cost of 7 million dirhams, and a primary school encompassing 5,000 square meters at a cost of 6.9 million dirhams.
Other projects were also announced, including a local market in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, and a large livestock market, expected to be completed within ten months.
Urban upgrading is a key focus of these projects, with the establishment of a new public square equipped with green spaces, an irrigation system, play areas, and accessible facilities.
Additionally, a medium-voltage electrical distribution station was inaugurated in the Al-Masira neighborhood, aimed at enhancing electricity supply, meeting growing demand, and improving the resilience of the city’s electrical network.
